Brett Cecil’s wife Jennifer Cecil has got the full family unit going: a husband, two sons, and a dog. The dog is a boxer named Cutter, and he’s got a snaggletooth that makes him look pretty goofy in family photos, as you can see in their photo by the fireplace. Jennifer is one of those women who looks very different depending on what hair color she chooses to go with. When her hair is brunette and long, she seems to look younger. Maybe it’s all in my head.
It was reported by TSN in April that both Brett Cecil and Brett Cecil’s wife Jennifer Cecil were finished using Twitter after they received a bunch of hateful tweets following a loss that was attributed to Brett’s pitching. Hey, sometimes a guy has a bad outing. You’ve got to move on, you know? As far as fans go, I can understand them getting angry at the guy but don’t tweet something you wouldn’t say in person. That was sort of the point of what Brett said in response to the backlash: “If somebody wants to come down to the bullpen and have a chat with me, I’d be more than happy to tell a security guard to go take a coffee break and, if they want to jump in to the ‘pen for a quick chat, be my guest.” I should say that I once went to the bullpen to trashtalk an opposing pitcher when I was in high school, and the guy started asking me personal questions about sports and stuff, and it totally defused my trash-talking because once I saw that he was a nice guy I wasn’t motivated any more.
Jennifer attended St. Petersburg College, which I have seen by coincidence walking around the town. Brett Cecil’s wife Jennifer Cecil is living that classic baseball family lifestyle now– raising the kids, feeding the dog, tidying up the house, going to some baseball games, wearing plaid in family photos. It’s a wholesome, fulfilling life, and who needs twitter to fog it up? Good riddance to anyone that has a problem with her husband. I’d like to see them throw a 92 mile-an-hour fastball.
