Gio Gonzalez’s wife Berenice Lea Moures is the mother of their son Enzo. They had him in March of 2016. Since Gio asked Berenice to marry him early in 2016, she is very happy. The couple also owns a French Bulldog named Stitch. He’s a bit of a chubber, but Gio saw no reason not to commission a painting of him. It’s quite common for the two of them to take pictures with the little fellow. I can tell that the baby won’t take up all the attention of Gio. His little Frenchie will still be in the mix.
Speaking of French, Gio Gonzalez’s wife speaks it fluently. It’s one of those details you pick up when you start reading about their relationship on the internet. Berenice was also a consultant at the World Bank. I’m not entirely sure what that entails but she did graduate college with a double major in economics and French. Perhaps she combines those two for the World Bank? Gio told Berenice the greatest gift she ever gave him was their son, Enzo. It was one of those births that happened during spring training. So he took a few days off, witnessed the birth, and then went back to immediately pitch a game. Hey, if you’re going to pay a guy millions of dollars, get your money’s worth!
I’m curious what Gio Gonzalez’s wife thinks of his insanely large collection of sneakers. I’ve never been the sneaker-collecting type. I have a few pairs of shoes, but I suspect athletes get a lot of them for free. It should be noted that Gio has a big endorsement deal with a well-known sneaker company, so that’s probably why. Berenice only started showing up in his social media a few years back, so I’m fairly certain they have only been dating since around 2013. He was previously linked to Angela Rypien, the daughter of Mark Rypien.
