CJ Anderson’s girlfriend Raquel Torres was probably the best player on her high school basketball team. I watched a relatively long video of her highlights on Youtube, and she could definitely shoot the lights out. She consistently made big plays on the court. And, more importantly, she seemed adored by her peers in another video where the seniors were honored.
Smarts and Stability
CJ Anderson’s girlfriend Raquel was able to maintain a 3.7 GPA in high school and was supporting CJ through his difficult transition into the NFL. That transition included not being drafted in all seven rounds of the NFL draft. He was later called by the Broncos and asked about his skills and determination. He then was able to make the team, and now he’s a real player. Raquel said of that time, “He spent a lot of time that day with his brothers, who have always been there for him. I just told him what I tell him all the time– that there is the hard way and an easy way, and it’s always been the hard way for him. Why should he expect anything different now?” I suppose those are wise words because they help to correct an aspiring pro’s perspective.
At one point Raquel got a call from CJ. CJ was crying and saying that there was no way the Broncos would keep him to make the final roster. His injury had cropped up late and forced him to remain on the sidelines. Torres is still with him and was in the crowd during Super Bowl XLVIII (why do we still use the Roman numerals for this?) when the Seahawks annihilated the Broncos. Raquel has always respected his drive, but now he’s a legit running back force, and she’s rooting for him to go all the way once again.
With the Rams heading into the 2019 playoffs strong, CJ is poised for another run. Does he win another ring this year? If he does, does CJ Anderson’s girlfriend get a ring too? Stay Tuned!
