John Means’ wife Caroline Means was as excited about his incredible no hitter as anyone could be.
A FREAKING NO NO, BABY!!!! 🙏🏽
— Caroline Means (@CarolineStan) May 5, 2021
Her enthusiasm is understood on many fronts. John Means’ wife should be excited for her husband. It took John till his age 25 season for his first cup of coffee. He broke out somewhat the year before COVID, but really found his stride in 2021. It’s clearly been an effort of focused drive and intensity to get to this point. But, here he is dominating the AL early in 2021.
But Caroline Means also understands all the hard work that goes into the moment of a no hitter beyond that of a doting loving wife. John Means’ wife is also a professional athlete. Caroline is a retired professional soccer player. The former Caroline Stanley retired in 2018. But, before her retirement, she had stints with the Sky Blue FC, Seattle Reign and Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League. Her career also brought her onto various Unite States rosters for U20, U18, U17 and U15 teams.
After retirement, Caroline took a stint as the Goalkeeper coach for the University of Tulsa women’s soccer team. Based on current coaching staff listing, it does not appear she continues to hold that position. Since then, she also serves as an ambassador the The Young and Brave Foundation. The Young and Brave Foundation states it’s mission as,
The Young and Brave Foundation is a nonprofit established to create a community of support for the families of children and young adults during their battle with cancer.

One athletic household
McCoy Alan Means is going to have every genetic athletic gift available to him. On December 17, 2020, John Means’ wife gave birth to the couple’s first child, which John celebrated on Instagram (side note – that’s my oldest son’s birthday and my middle name. Did I just become best friends with John Means? <insert YUP .gif here>). The couple tied the knot in November of 2019. Between a wedding, a newborn and a no-hitter, it’s been one hell of an 18 month stretch.
