Johan Santana’s wife Yasmile Santana was rumored to be a driving force when Johan Santana signed a record breaking contract before the start of the 2008 season. Rumors persisted that Yasmile was the driving force behind this contract. The rumors suggested that Yasmile was intent on leaving Minnesota in favor of the larger market of New York.
Johan and Yasmile have known each other since they were 9 years old. They currently have three children together, daughters Jasmily and Jasmine, and son Johan Jr.
