Okay, you all need a primer in the wonderful world of girlfriend Linsanity. Go ahead and type in “Jeremy Lin” into your Google search, and you will see a prompt that pops up and says, “jeremy lin girlfriend eunice.” So you’re probably thinking to yourself, “Oh, that’s gotta’ be Jeremy Lin’s girlfriend Eunice. Nothing weird about that.” Except there is zero actual evidence of him having dated a Eunice. There was a really weak rumor that started awhile back that he was dating a Eunice that attended the same church as him, but that held as much water . I’ve only really seen this rumor on one of those braindead question-asking sites where a person types in a question like, “Who is Jeremy Lin dating?” and the rest of the internet throws stuff out there and sees what sticks. Honestly? That thread probably came from the Google prompt too. I mean, come on people- if you want to know who’s dating which athlete, PlayerWives.com is the place to go.
So Google’s search prompt seems to have stuck. Jeremy Lin’s girlfriend has one hell of an early 1900’s name. Maybe his real girlfriend is named Mildred Frances Gertrude. Is Google trying to tell us that Jeremy has a thing for Victorian-era women? This all started in the original era of Linsanity back when Kim Kardashian was rumored to have been interested in the man. We wrote about it as a laugh and an afterthought, but a few years ago Mr. Lin could do no wrong in New York. So it’s understandable that without any real evidence of a girlfriend, people started scouring the 1800’s past for a suitable wife.
The one credible piece of information about Jeremy’s dating life came from a college basketball friend of Jeremy’s back when he was at Harvard. There’s a picture of him with a chick who the former player said he dated, but he would not tell anyone who she is. So essentially there’s a picture of him with a former girlfriend (maybe) and nobody knows who she is. Jeremy Lin’s girlfriend is always arbitrarily assumed to be Asian as well. The guy takes pictures with tons of people, and when you start looking at forums about who he’s dated or dating, a bunch of pictures of him with Asian women are invariably pointed to. The guy took a picture with a Chinese actress in China back in 2011 and people conjecture it’s his girlfriend. Ladies love Linsanity. Jeremy’s apparently super Christian so if you want to hook it up you’ve got to brush up on your religious scriptures, ladies.
