Alex Len’s girlfriend Essence Townsend was recently described by USA Today as “taller than Michael Jordan.” She’s nearly a foot taller than I am, but she’s one of the most attractive super-tall women I’ve seen. She could certainly be a model, in my humble opinion. She’s got a cool, slender and stylish look, and she sort of does model-like pictures on her Instagram too. Recently she said about Alex during his birthday, “I could get mushy but I won’t, happy birthday to my man,” and she included a picture of them walking peacefully on a pathway and holding hands, and Alex is significantly taller than his 6’7″ girlfriend. If she were dating me, on the other hand, I would look like a small child that she’d just adopted and was leading to a safe place.
As a seasoned veteran of reading player wives and girlfriends’ Twitter feeds, I can sort of get a rough sense of a person by what they have to say on theirs, and I’m a fan of Alex Len’s girlfriend Essence Townsend’s Twitter feed. She keeps things light and fun, but she doesn’t try to say anything deep or meaningful (it’s Twitter, remember). She’s taken a number of semi-revealing photos on Instagram, but not one is risque, and she’s got a strong sense of fashion. One of my favorite quotes Essence has put out there is “Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear.” It’s simple, sounds good, and it gives you a sense of who she is (or at least who she wants to be).
It also appears like Essence is getting a bit into professional modeling, as she appeared on a runway recently for a designer called R Michelle. So even though Essence didn’t go on to become a world-dominator in the WNBA, she still has some cool prospects. She approached Alex while they were both attending Maryland. They had quite a lot in common since they were both centers. I guess it didn’t matter much to her that he didn’t speak much English. He was like her big center project.
