Barry Church’s wife Marcia Thomas married him on June 26 of 2015. The ceremony took place in Antigua, and it was just the two of them since Marcia said she didn’t want “the whole ceremony thing.” The first time Barry and Marcia met, it was at a bar in Dallas, according to the Dallas Star. Barry was dating someone else at the time, but a few months later he was split from that lady, and he saw her at the same bar again. I love the way Barry tells it: “After a game, me and a couple of teammates went to this random bar, and we happened to see her. She spotted me, so she came up to me first and started spitting her little game, her little one-two cents. I was just giggling and smiling at her. I just flirted a little bit and went on my merry way.” That was technically their second encounter but first while he was singly, and it is documented brilliantly. Then he says nine months later he saw her again, liked some of the things she said to him, and then they started dating.
In the Dallas Star article, which I found pretty readable, Barry Church’s wife was attributed to five things that are now better in his life: cleaner house, better meal plans and nutrition, better dental health (no more candy), far less video gaming, and being a better man in general. I gotta’ agree with all of these things. If you are a man in a relationship, you will find this pattern to be true. I love that Barry says of the dental hygiene: “I’ll try to bring a bag of Skittles in, and she’ll throw it right in the garbage.” That’s so funny.
All this stuff does translate to the football field, as he has said. He’s a good boy! His mother raised him right, and speaking of his mother, I want to take a brief respite to inform you that she can be seen on reruns of Family Feud (with Steve Harvey) and that her family didn’t win but gave it a shot. Her name’s Denise and she appeared with four other women from her family, and all of them wore different colors.
My good internet sense tells me that Barry Church’s wife deleted her facebook profile at some point during their relationship to stay out of the gaze of, well, people like me! It’s incredibly hard to find a photo of her, and Barry never posts any. I can understand that because she seems to be a very private person anyhow. She didn’t want any guests at all at her wedding, remember.
