The New York Jets are a terrible football team. And that’s coming from a Jets fan (despite previous edits to the contrary by our astute editor). Take a look at that roster for a sec. The starting QB (Sanchez) should be a backup but despite that fact, was given an $8 million extension last year. Maybe that was to boost his confidence, who knows? However, bringing in Jesus… excuse me, Tebow… to back him up probably negated any gains there. It’s a toss up between New York and Cleveland for worst offense, and any time your up against Cleveland for the “worst” of something, it’s not good. And the defense has regressed, capped off by Revis being out for most of the year with a knee injury. Just an absolute dumpster fire up there at The MetLife Stadium.
Just about the only thing we have going for us is Nick Mangold. Guy is a trooper, rarely missing a game or getting called for a penalty. We’re guessing Nick Mangold’s wife Jessica Richmond has something to do with that.
Mangold grew up in Ohio and went to Archbishop Alter High School. He was All-Ohio his senior year and continued his offensive line dominance at Ohio State, earning All-Big 10 honors his junior and senior years. But let’s back track to high school, which is where he met Richmond. They have dated since and were married in April 2007. Together they have been active in the charitable scene, and also the wine scene? Yes, Mangold is very knowledgeable about wine and has plans to eventually make his own.
