Ndamukong Suh’s wife Katya Suh is proof that maintaining relationships in life really matter.
It all dates back to Nebraska
Ndamukong Suh is one of the most dominant college players of all time. He came out of Nebraska with national fame, and as close to can’t miss NFL status as there is. Big, tenacious, and dominant. Everyone knew Ndamukong Suh. But, Ndamukong Suh’s wife Katya knew a different version than the beast who owned the gridiron on Saturday’s.
The two met at Nebraska in 2009, and while they didn’t date, they struck up a friendship that lasted long beyond school. Suh’s career took him from Detroit to Miami, Los Angeles, and now ultimately Tampa Bay. But these maintained a close relationship throughout his career. In 2018, it was clear these two were meant to be together and moved in together before getting engaged in 2019.
2020 – The Year of the Suh
While most of the world struggled through lockdowns and the strife of COVID during the werid-assed 2020, the Suh family thrived. Katya finally attained the title of Ndamukong Suh’s wife during a “not-so-traditional” wedding. Katya explained to PEOPLE Magazine that their May wedding was a “not-so-traditional COVID sweatpants-and-hoodie Zoom call wedding.”

“Both of our families were very surprised and excited,” the mom-to-be tells PEOPLE. “We FaceTimed them as they opened boxes with T-shirts that told them they would be becoming grandparents, aunts or great-grandparents. There was a lot of dancing, jumping up and down and, of course, tears of joy from both sides!”
2021 promises to be equally exciting for the Suh family. Of course the birth of their twins will take the top prize. But Katya is still working towards opening her own restaurant, and Ndamukong has a little game coming up here soon. Twins, a new business and a championship ring? Not a bad way to leave 2020 behind!
