In our almost thirteen years running this site, we’ve seen various sites, groups, podcasts etc pop up. They give a voice to the very elusive community of the WAG. With the constant movement into and out of cities, and the stresses that John Q Public will never understand, you’d think these communities were a natural fit. Often times centralized in one city, but for whatever reason they never seem to have lasting power. That has always befuddled us.
With that history, let’s check out The NFL Wife Handbook.
This is by far the most organized and developed group we’ve come across. A Christian focused site, but a community for NFL Wives to be together. It began in 2015 with a full site, and social media presence. A little over a year into the site, Ryan Succop’s wife Paige introduced herself as a disciple, with the following bio.
Hi ladies! My name is Paige Succop and I am the wife of Ryan Succop. Ryan is in his 8th year in the NFL – 5 seasons in Kansas City and 3 seasons with the Tennessee Titans. I met Ryan my freshman year of college at the University of South Carolina. We dated all throughout college and through his first season in the NFL. We were engaged in December 2010 and married in July 2011! I am now a stay at home mom to our precious 14 month old boy, Cooper.
Paige writes a much longer post detailing her relationship with religion and its daily impact on her life. Ryan Succop’s wife is not alone on here. There are dozens of other disciples introducing themselves to the community. They also delve into their relationship with Christianity.
So, what happened?
But, out of nowhere, in November, 2017. It all just…. stopped. No more posts. No more disciples, and no more social media. Where it went, and why it stopped is beyond us.
But, Ryan Succop’s wife in no way stopped being his wife. The couple now has two children, Cooper and Reese. Ryan took to instagram to announce that Succop number three was on the way.
