Dan Carcillo’s girlfriend Ela Bulawa had their first child last year in October and named him Austin. The couple have yet to marry, but that may be in their future as their relationship grows. Ela had listed herself as a student of Columbia College, which is part of Columbia University and is the oldest undergraduate college of the University (whatever that means). She must be pretty darn smart to get into that school. Past graduates include Meadow Soprano (Tony Soprano’s daughter). Ela has taken a number of photographs of their son Austin, and one includes him hanging out on the grass with their french bulldog.
Ela speaks and understands Polish, and she grew up in Mokena, Illinois. I’m not sure whether she was born in America or what, but a lot of her posts on facebook include comments in Polish from other Polish speakers. One of the coolest activities she shared was her and her friends on this giant floating raft that held eight people, all facing each other, tethered to a dock outside of downtown Chicago. Awesome party on the water in the middle of Chicago? Count me in.
The couple have also traveled to Las Vegas together with little Austin back in June. I’m guessing that was just to take in some shows and throw some dice around. Another interesting outing was horseback riding along the beach and riding the horses in the water. That’s not something you see every day with horses. I think they may have been on some kind of vacation away from the States, but it was back in 2013 before they had the kid. They’ve lived in Chicago for a few years now, and they’ve come to really enjoy the city. You can tell they like it because they go around to various hot spots like the huge fountain in downtown and take pictures. Of course, there’s no better highlight to their life in Chicago than winning the Stanley Cup and putting their little baby inside of it for a nice photo opp!
