With Shaun White about to enter the daily lexicon once again, we figured worth taking a look at what’s happening in his life,… starting with Shaun White’s girlfriend Sarah Barthel. Barthel is actually a celebrity in her own right. When celebrity couples work, they can really work. This pair definitely meshes well together. The pair exists off the beaten path, and blazes their own trail in their own industry.
Shaun White’s Girlfriend, Straight Up Rock Star
That’s right folks. Sarah Barthel is a rock star. She is half of the the electronic rock band, Phantogram. Admittedly, it may not be a household name to all. But, for those familiar with the festival circuit, they are regulars on the scene. According to Phantogram’s Wikipedia page, they’ve played:
- Austin City Limits
- Osheaga
- Coachella
- Free Press Summer Fest
- Sasquatch!
- Bonnaroo
- Treasure Island
- Lollapalooza
- Outside Lands
- LouFest
- Bumbershoot
- Summerfest
- Firefly, and
- WayHome Music & Arts
And hell, while we’re here rattling off the resume, their TV listing is equally as deep and impressive. They’ve appeared on all the late night shows, including both versions of Fallon, Kimmel a couple times, and Colbert. Impressive list of accomplishments.
How long has Shaun White’s girlfriend been in the picture?
Sarah Barthel has been in the picture since 2013. White certainly had his days of partying, as any rich, young, gold medal winning superstar should. He was once linked to Bar Rafaeli. Yes. Bar Rafaeli. His dating resume is almost as impressive as his girlfriend’s resume. We routinely don’t link to folks who compete with our traffic, but this list is something else. FamousFix has his dating history to include vintage Lindsay Lohan, Elisha Cuthbert, and Arielle Vandenberg. If you had a gold medal, you’d do the same.
But, after racking up this list, it was clearly time to settle down. Hence, where Shaun White’s girlfriend came into the picture.
Everyone, including Sarah Barthel was freaked out by his crash.
Shaun White took a nasty dive during a training run for the 2018 Olympics. He posted visual evidence of the gnarly face destruction.
White talked to Us Weekly about how the crash impacted those around him,
White says that although having his family, his girlfriend Sarah Barthel and friends around has been important for his healing, sometimes they tend to worry too much. “Everyone is alarmed by this crash, but I feel great. I’m so excited. That was the most frustrating part when I crashed, I was sitting there bleeding and all that was going through my head was how annoyed I am and how pissed off I am because I knew exactly what I did wrong,” the 31-year-old told Us. “It’s like hitting the curb when you’re trying to parallel park or something. You’re like, ‘God, I’ve done this a million times! I’m an idiot!’ That’s how I look at it.”
Hopefully White doesn’t hit any more curbs on his trip down the hill in PyeongChang, South Korea.
