Lars-Kristian Eriksen’s wife Caroline Berg Eriksen has become a popular topic of conversation in the past few days. And if you’re anything like us, you have no clue who we’re talking about.
Lars-Kristian Eriksen is a Norwegian soccer player who like every other European soccer player [Time-Out: Norway is in Europe, right? It is? OK, got it. Time-In] has a smokeshow wife. Lars, age 30, and and Caroline, age 26, had their first child on November 25, 2013. In the midst of the joy, and exhaustion that a new baby brings to any parents, Caroline took to Instagram to show off her post baby body. And with that, the internet exploded.
Caroline showed off a revealing selfie without a hint that she was 9 months pregnant less than a week earlier. As a fitness blogger, and typically in shape hardbody, she was obviously happy with the lack of permanent impact that the couple’s newborn had on her body. Throughout the entire pregnancy, Caroline gained only 22 pounds, or less than what the typical American gained during the week their child was born.
The picture has cause quite a commotion with people weighing in on both sides of the debate. Some are impressed and call her an inspiration for mothers that a return to form can actually happen. Others are calling the pictures obnoxious, showing off and unrealistic, some going so far as to call them obscene.
For her part, Caroline defends her actions. In an interview with ABC News, Caroline said;
During the pregnancy, people kept telling me that my body will never be the same and I wanted to show everybody that’s not entirely true. Right after birth, like three minutes after, I felt like myself again… I think that all women should be proud of themselves, regardless of how they look after labor.
