Michael Bradley’s wife Amanda Bradley was a talented tennis player for Rhode Island University, where she graduated as a bit of a ace. She always put up good numbers, frequently with fairly dominant win percentages. This is a fairly well-documented couple on YouTube, as it turns out. Specifically, there is a video interview from their days in Italy, when Michael was playing for Chievo and Roma.
That’s basically the story of the two– traveling from one European city to another while Michael played for various teams. They were married in July of 2011 after having lived in Germany for a time (as Michael had also played for an unpronounceable team there for a few years. Bradley’s finally back in America as of early 2014, playing for Toronto in the MLS. In the video on YouTube titled “MNT in Italy: Michael Bradley,” one gets a fairly candid look at his life with Amanda.
I’ve got to say, he seems like a really cool dude. He walks around Verona talking to baristas and explaining how he and his wife made a conscious effort to try and learn the language since not many people there speak English. I know he kind of looks like a hitman, but he actually comes across as quite understated and cerebral in the interview. He’s called a thinking player by one of his teammates, Bojan Jokic, who says that Italian soccer is very much a thinking game.
It’s all in the past, though. Michael and Amanda packed up and took their little annoying dog to Toronto, and now they have a kid. He says of the relationship in yet another YouTube video that his wife Amanda is the reason he’s so thankful for his life because she’s always supported him even through all the traveling and being alone with their child. “You can have all the success, but at the end of the day if you walk in your house and your wife’s not there and your little boy’s not there, then it’s not the same.” Family Man Bradley. Here’s hoping he scores some goals for them.
