Welcome back to the world of World’s Best Genetically Engineered Sports Couples! Ryan Kerrigan’s girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki is all kinds of awesome. We are talking about a tennis powerhouse now. She spent 67 straight weeks ranked the #1 tennis player in the world. That is amazing. And she’s really good looking. Man, imagine dating the best women’s tennis player in the world. That’d be pretty intimidating unless you yourself had some substantial sporting skill of your own. Fortunately, Ryan Kerrigan is a pretty decent linebacker. I think he looks sort of like a buffed up version of Seth MacFarlane. Anyway, back to Caroline…
Ryan’s girlfriend Caroline was apparently the second highest paid woman athlete in the world in 2011. Bringing home the bacon; she’s one of the most marketable female athletes as well. I guess she’s pretty big in Europe (you know, where people actually play tennis). I dig the sport myself, and I wish there were a new crop of Americans to challenge the internationals. Well, we can’t talk about Caroline without mentioning her intense marriage shutdown by another very famous athlete, Irish golfing wizard Rory McIlroy. Basically what happened is they started dating in 2011, and they got engaged in January of 2014. A few months later, Rory called her on the telephone and called the whole thing off. The phone call reportedly took less than three minutes. McIlroy then proceeded to play out completely of his mind: winning The Open Championship, the Bridgestone Invitational, the PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup. I’m not sure what the takeaway from this is. Dump your fiance in a jerky fashion and you will dominate in your field or profession?
She doesn’t have to worry about nasty old Rory and more now. Ryan and girlfriend Caroline have been spotted all over town, and they most recently attended a charity event where photographers/papa razzi caught a few shots of them at a table, grinning from ear to ear.
